Getting Started

It all starts with a Discovery Call.

I’ll ask you what’s going on, listen to your challenges, and gather a few details. I am interested in exploring how I might contribute positively to your life. If you are ready for a visit, we can schedule an appointment for an assessment in your home. One size does not fit all and I’d like to get to know you.

Then we schedule a home visit.

When we work together, you’ll find that I am professional, resourceful, respectful and a good listener. I understand that stuff can be emotional, so I’ll be non-judgmental, respectful of your belongings, and fun!

Give me a plan

Jumpstart Me

This option is for clients who just need a plan to get started. Whether you need to simplify your home, downsize and plan a future move, or sell your home (or your parent’s home), I can map out what needs to be done, and you can take it from there.

This service is priced between $100-$150 and includes a comprehensive two-hour consultation where I will tour your home, identify all the key components of your project, and develop a tailored plan to initiate your project’s progress. I’ll provide a listing of locations for recycling, donating and selling your unneeded items. You set your own timeline for completion and contact partners to make it happen. I can provide some referrals to assist you if needed.

One-on-One

This option is for clients who:

  • Have personal issues or an overwhelming project that needs professional assistance.
  • tried to organize on their own and it didn’t “take”.
  • are chronically disorganized and need a system to keep their home under control.
  • are planning a move and need to unclutter first or have already moved and need help in organizing and rightsizing a new home.

We will begin with an assessment in your home which will cost $40 and will last about 1-2 hours. We’ll do a thorough walk-through of your home and talk about:

  • problems and challenges with each area in your home,
  • what’s working and what isn’t working,
  • ideas and tips to organize your home right away,
  • how you feel about letting go of stuff in general,
  • your goals for certain areas you want to work on, and
  • your timeframe, deadline and budget.

We will work 2-3 hours per day at $75/hour. When we work together, I will

  • break down the project into bite-size pieces
  • help you decide on what items will stay and what will go
  • discuss organizational tips as we work together
  • recycle (when we can), discard (when we must), and deliver donations of unneeded items.

  • research any items to sell on ebay
  • assign homework (maybe?) to save money
  • work quickly and efficiently to complete the project

We will explore the factors that make up your unique situation and create custom solutions just for you. How long your project takes depends upon how quickly you make decisions (without pushing) to keep moving forward. You determine how often we meet and whether you will do homework on your own to save money. My rates are competitive with professional organizers in the region and my services are guaranteed 100%.

Relatives Need Help

I work with clients who live out of the Berks County/Reading area to assist local parents and relatives with organizing in their home/spaces. We focus on safety, health and quality of life. Whether your loved one is aging-in-place or is in assisted living, a safe and uncluttered environment is the key to your peace of mind.

I will start with a Discovery Call and discuss your concerns with your parent’s home/space and talk about any challenges you feel are unsafe or unhealthy. I also need to know how your parent(s)/realtive(s) feel about a visit from me.

If your loved one is amenable to a home assessment, it will last about one hour and will cost $40. I will work hard to earn their trust and assure them I am there to help. We’ll do a home walk through and talk about:

  • how they feel about letting go of stuff in general
  • challenges and usage with each area
  • what’s working and what isn’t working
  • ideas and tips to make a difference right away

We will work together for 2 hours per day at $75/hour. Here’s how I can assist them:

  • Unclutter belongings if needed and deliver any donations or recycling.
  • Organize the current home/space for safer and healthier surroundings, which could include:
      • organize the spaces they occupy most often
      • unclutter walkways and stairwells
      • evaluate lighting and door locks
      • keep important documents easily accessible
      • go through expired food and medications
  • Provide referrals for repairs, installation of grab bars if needed

I understand that everyone has unique needs, and I am committed to developing tailored solutions specifically for them. Small Business / Remote Work Service

Owning a small business can be 24/7 with many moving parts (believe me, I know). If you work remotely or are a part of the gig economy, your home office is a space where prime real estate and maximized efficiency is critical. There is precious little time to get organized, but whether it’s your home office, store-front office, your car, or the storage closet, we can work together to maximize whatever space you have and keep you flowing smoothly.

An assessment will cost $50 and last 1-2 hours. We’ll do a thorough walk-through of your business/home office and talk about:

  • problems and challenges with each area
  • what’s working and what isn’t working
  • your goals for certain areas you want to work on
  • ideas and tips to organize your spaces right away
  • your timeframe, deadline and budget

We will work 2-3 hours per day at $75/hour. When we work together, I will

FAQs

What is included in your services?
  • Supplies: Post-its, labels, and any tools we may need.
  • Donation take away: One carload per session and together we’ll determine the best outlet for your donations.
  • Organizing supplies research and shopping: If you need bins, shelving or frames, I’ll be happy to shop for those items with your approval on pricing.
Is Vali Heist insured?

I am fully insured, bonded, and references are available if requested. I started my business in 2006 and I received certification and training through the NAPO (National Association of Productivity Professionals). Discretion and confidentiality are part of my Code of Ethics.

What’s NOT included in your services?

Heavy cleaning, lifting and assembly are not included in my services. You will need to have your trash and recycling taken away. I will gladly take precious metals such as gold, sterling, platinum, and watches to Muller Jewelers in Hamburg, PA to get the best price for your items, but I will charge a fee of 15%.

Vali isn’t trained to work with hoarders, but she can advise you on next steps and how to move forward.

Do you require a deposit?

No. However, I will ask you to sign a Project Work Order during our assessment where we agree on what your goals are, what you can expect from me, and what I expect from you while we work together. Limiting interruptions is key because I want you to get the most out of your investment in my time. Payment for each session is due at the end of the session by cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle.

What is it like to work with a Professional Organizer?

I ask every client to be focused and fully present when we work together and keep me apprised of how they are feeling during the process. I will be the impetus to get you started, help you stay focused, and work with you to meet your goals. I will provide organizing tips for short and long-term benefit. The pace of working with me will depend upon individual circumstances and how quickly you make decisions about your stuff as we move through your home.
